why do masters degree gowns have penguin sleeves? and should I receive a graduate degree if I can't even figure out how the hood works? and probably the most important question of all-- why is this creepy mannequin the only picture I can find on google images to illustrate my point?

Congrats!!!! You totally deserve to graduate!
The penguin sleeves are great for holding your camera in and as for the hood, I don't think anyone knows how to do it correctly. Luckily you'll be graduating with others and if you haven't figured it out, they'll show you how it's done. Congrats!
